FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As a wedding photographer it is my greatest pleasure to spend time with you and capture the essence of your love and commitment to each other.

Below are my answers to many often asked questions. If yours are not answered then pick up your phone and call. Remember, beyond your cursor or thumb lies my beating heart!

     What is your pricing?

My most popular package is 10 hours of digital coverage which costs $2,600.

For a full price list of packages, please fill in the contact form.

How quick do you deliver?

I am super fast. This is the 21st century. Often you will receive your highlight slideshow within 3-4 days and all the images within a week. This is not a guarantee. Sometimes I am travelling or life gets in the way.

   Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I love travel. I am based in Byron Bay, but about half of my weddings involve me travelling. Recently I have been to Sydney, Orange, Dubbo, Nowra and The Blue Mountains. I keep expenses to an absolute minimum for you and don't charge for my days in transit. Hawaii, Greenland? I am there in a heart beat.

Do you edit all of our photographs?

Every single one is hand edited and checked. That may involve cropping, colour balancing and generally making them look their best. There is no watermark or restrictions. You get two copies of everything delivered via Dropbox. One web sized and one full-size for printing.

Do you have a second shooter?

Currently no. I move around a lot! I am ninja photographer, everywhere and nowhere!. If yours is a big wedding I can call in another experienced photographer at reasonable cost. Some companies that offer second shooters often use unexperienced college students.

Do you provide video?

I am a photographer and although my camera can shoot 4K video, that is not my expertise. I can let you know of local specialists in my area.

Can you deliver black and white photos?

Yes, I love black and white and you always get the colour copy as well. Let me know your preference from the start.

How many pictures will we receive?

Typically I deliver one image for every 60 seconds I am with you. For a 10 hour session that is about 600. That is heaps with tons of candid shots. Don't fall into the trap of more is better. Having 100 great shots is better than 1000 throw aways.

Who keeps the copyright of the images?

Many couples ask this question. As the creator and artist I own copyright of the images and reserve the right to use them for promotion and competitions.

I will never charge you for using your own images though. Feel free to print, share, make albums or whatever. To all intents and purposes they are yours. If you want to showcase them in a magazine or similar, please make sure that I get a credit.

What happens to the bloopers?

I get asked this a lot. Can we see the ones that didn't make the edit?

The answer is that they didn't make the cut because you were blinking or some other reason that they look awful. I deliver every image that comes out, I promise.

Can I order prints or albums later?

Yes, of course. You can buy albums or prints or I can send you to the best printers yourself. I also offer an album design service for low cost so that you can print your album yourself later.

Do you do engagement sessions?

Yes, I love engagement sessions. They are not included in my prices because many of my couples are out-of-towners or I am travelling to a destination. Just ask.

Do you take family group shots?

Of course. Families so rarely get together these days that they are a great historical record for years to come. I ask that you make a list of 8-12 combinations beforehand and then give one person from each family the 'honour' of shepherding the groups together. This makes for very efficient use of time.

Can we provide you with a shot list?

If you send me a style sheet that can be useful to know your likes and dislikes.

You will find that I naturally cover the lists given in wedding magazines. If there are particular people you definitely want photographed, often the elderly, then just let me know.

What experience and qualifications do you have?

I have been a keen photographer since childhood, but I have been full-time since 2001. I hold a first class Batchelor of Arts degree in photography and I am an accredited member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers.

How do I secure a date and what is the schedule?

Simple, you pay a 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your dates and the final payment of 75%, a month before the wedding.

What if you get sick or die?

In all my years of photography I have only missed one wedding and that was because a close family member was very sick. I got a friend, whose prices are higher than mine to cover and the couple were delighted.

In the past, I have vomited at a wedding and limped all day on a sprained ankle.

The show must go on!

There is a network in place should the unthinkable happen.

Can family members take pictures at the wedding?

As long as they don't get in my way or try and direct things that is fine. I ask them not to come for the location sessions as that is a more intimate time.

Do you need feeding?

Yes please, an evening meal would be great. Please specify that I eat at the same time as you as I want to be up and shooting as soon as you have finished.

I am a fish eating vegetarian. I know that makes no sense but please humour me.

So what happens next?

Most couples want to have a chat before they book to make sure I don't have horns. If you don't live in the area, I normally Skype/Facetime. Then, you love me, you pay your deposit, you are locked in and ready to go!. Another tick off that long list. ;)
